On Saturday 15th March, Many scouts went to Hesley Woods to compete against other scouts (over 100 people were there) for the Hallam Trophy with a team of 4 or 6. Our scout group had two teams competing against the others. The goal was to get as many points as possible at each base and win the most points. We got points on how well we did at the activity.

At the start of the event, we were given a joker card. This joker card doubles the points we got on one base so we had to think if we would do well enough at that base to use the joker. The Hallam trophy was really fun. Each base has activities that are different from the others like building a base, morse code, minefield and some water activities. My favourite was transporting a tennis ball to a certain place using gutters while being blindfolded and having one person in your team to tell you instructions which was quite hard but fun as my team would have to balance the ball in our gutter blindfolded.

At the end of the event, Ecclesall’s scout group won the trophy like last year, but we had lots of fun and both of our teams did quite well with my team coming in 3rd. This event was like Scout Scarper which I really liked, but this time we didn't need to use public transport and just focused on the activities.
